THEY REFUSED TO SAY GOODBYE

He was 3 days old when doctors told his parents they might have to let him go.

Beau Hubbard- who turns 4 weeks old this Thursday- was born with a very rare and serious heart defect.

Beau’s parents Dillon and Meghan Hubbard of Killeen, Texas refused to say goodbye.

The story of Beau Hubbard will inspire you.

Mom Meghan wants to tell you about her brave boy.

Because Meghan knows the real story.

Beau Knows, too.

Writes Meghan:

“Before birth, doctors knew Beau’s heart was not formed correctly and that he would need open-heart surgery after he was born. We moved closer to the hospital so he could get immediate care.

“When Beau was born, he was not breathing and had to be resuscitated right away. Doctors quickly realized his heart anatomy was much more complicated than expected and had never been seen before at Texas Children’s.

“Because his heart sends too much blood to his lungs, Beau is at constant risk of lung damage. He also did not get enough oxygen before and during birth, which caused brain swelling. He was cooled for 72 hours, but thankfully he has no brain damage.

“Due to the severity of his condition, Beau was life-flighted by helicopter from Austin to Houston.

“Doctors say Beau will need three major heart surgeries:

    1. The first surgery (already done) was to control blood flow to his lungs so they don’t get damaged.

    2. The second surgery will address smaller blood vessels as they grow.

    3. The final surgery will fully repair his heart defect.

“We have been told Houston will be our home for at least the next 6 months or longer while Beau is growing and for his surgeries.”

Thanks to Meghan for introducing us to

Beau.

While he doesn’t turn one month old until Thursday, he plans on behind around for thousands of months in the furure.

And that’s something Meghan knows.

It’s something Beau Knows, too.
