Jules and Brisbane star Lachie Neale lived just minutes from Tess and her husband Ben and the couples were close friends.
Fresh details have emerged about Jules and Lachie Neale’s marriage breakdown.
Jules Neale learned about her husband’s “unimaginable betrayal” after a fellow WAG caught him in a compromising position with Tess Crosley in a car, the Herald Sun has exclusively reporter.
Jules and Brisbane star Lachie Neale lived just minutes from Tess and her husband Ben and the couples were close friends.
Jules has now moved back to Perth with her young children and is being supported by family.
The mother-of-two posted a heartfelt message to social media in December.
“I want to make it very clear that I am not ‘working through’ anything,” Jules wrote to Instagram.
“I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way.
“All I can do now is try to heal and do what’s best for my children.”
Now the Herald Sun has revealed that it was the partner of another Lions AFL player who caught Lachie and Tess in a car.
After debating what to do, the woman sought advice from another player’s partner and then decided to break the news to Jules.
Jules now lives in Perth, and Lachie has moved out of the family home into an apartment in Brisbane.
Lachie spoke to media about the controversy on January 2, saying he took full responsibility for the marriage breakdown.
“While I won’t go into specifics I can say that I have let my family down and I apologise for my actions, which have hurt those closest to me. For that I am deeply sorry,’’ he said.
Days after he stood in front of the camera, a moving truck was spotted outside Neale’s residence.
On Monday he was snapped alongside two friends on the balcony of the Brisbane apartment he moved into last week.
With questions lingering surrounding the breakdown of the marriage, Neale was asked bluntly during his press conference if he had cheated on his wife, to which he responded: “No I can’t address those rumours”.
He answered another question by saying he has “regrets” about his personal life.”
The saga erupted when Jules responded to a report she and Lachie were experiencing marriage problems.
The woman said to be at the centre of the marriage breakdown has since done a major purge of her Instagram account, removing photos of her and the Neales celebrating Brisbane’s grand final victory over Geelong in September.
One photo in particular, showing Crosley’s knee leaning into the Lions star as the two couples celebrated the premiership win, was at the centre of the scandal.
That has now been deleted.
She has also deleted several other photos featuring the Neales, but Crosley’s account still features a few snaps of her hanging out with them along with some comments that make for awkward reading.
It is understood the purge of photos occurred on or around New Year’s Day.
Neale also made another eyebrow-raising comment during the press conference when he failed to guarantee his future with the Lions beyond this season.
His contract with Brisbane expires at the end of the 2026 season and speculation is already swirling he may look to return to Western Australia.
When asked if his future remains in Brisbane, Neale responded by saying: “Yeah, I’m going to be here for this season coming up and I’m fully committed to putting everything I can into footy and I can’t wait to get into training and I’m looking forward to it”.
When asked about his future a second time, Neale responded: “I haven’t really considered that yet.
“I think my decision was always going to be put on hold with my contract regardless so we will work that out in the next six months.”
Away from the scrutiny, Neale had a rare bright moment over the weekend thanks to the racetrack.
The 32-year-old part-owns a three-year-old gelding named Two Time Charlie, which claimed a dramatic maiden win at Bunbury, about 170km south of Perth.
Formerly trained by ex-AFL star Hayden Ballantyne before moving to SJ Miller late last year, the horse stormed home from last to snatch victory right on the line, winning by just 0.04 of a length.
Neale was not on course for the nail-biting finish, with the win netting $13,500 in prize money.
