A Brisbane Lions defender’s relationship has ended in alleged betrayal, as fresh details emerge about another marriage breakdown.
Brisbane Lions defender Jack Payne has split from model and pre-med student Bronte Dagg following an eight-month relationship that ended in October, The Daily Telegraph reports.
A source close to Dagg told The Daily Telegraph the breakdown allegedly stemmed from a loss of trust and “major betrayal.”
“After the grand final, she just thought something was going wrong,” the source claimed.
It was reported that Dagg ended the relationship after making “an admission.”
Payne’s management and the Brisbane Lions have not made comment on the matter.
The report comes on the same day fresh details have emerged about the marriage breakdown between Brisbane Lions co-captain Lachie Neale and wife Jules.
The Herald Sun exclusively reports that Jules learned of her husband’s alleged betrayal after a fellow WAG caught him in a compromising position with Tess Crosley in a car.
The couples were close friends, living minutes apart in Brisbane. Tess is married to Ben Crosley.
After debating what to do, the woman sought advice from another player’s partner before breaking the news to Jules.
Jules has since moved back to Perth with her young children. In December, she posted a heartfelt message to Instagram stating: “I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way. All I can do now is try to heal and do what’s best for my children.”
Lachie has moved out of the family home into a Brisbane apartment.
Speaking to the media on January 2, Neale took full responsibility but wouldn’t confirm if he had cheated, saying: “No, I can’t address those rumours.”
Tess Crosley has purged her Instagram account of photos featuring the Neales, including images from Brisbane’s 2024 grand final celebrations.
Questions also linger over Neale’s future with the Lions beyond this season, with speculation mounting about a potential return to Western Australia.
