Lachie Neale’s racehorse just crossed the finish line, but the victory has exposed a "very unfortunate name" that feels like a cruel joke. The specific moniker literally defines "deceiving a partner," perfectly mirroring the scandal destroying his marriage. You couldn't script a more awkward coincidence.

Lachie Neale has had a rare bright spot amid the breakdown of his marriage to wife Jules as the horse he part-owns won a race in dramatic fashion last weekend.

However, the victory has brought the gelding's very unfortunate name to the fore: he's called Two Time Charlie.

The Cambridge Dictionary defines 'two-time' as 'to deceive someone you are having a relationship with by having a secret sexual relationship with someone else at the same time'.

There has been heavy speculation about what caused the Neales' marriage to disintegrate ever since Jules publicly alleged she'd suffered the 'ultimate betrayal' in a stunning social media message.

Neale appeared to blame himself for the split when he stepped down as Brisbane Lions co-captain earlier this month, saying, 'I can say that I have let my family down, and I apologise for my actions, which have hurt those closest to me, and for that I am deeply sorry.'

Two Time Charlie made the second start of his racing career at Bunbury Turf Club, and was trailing the 11 other runners before putting in a storming finish to win by a nose.

The three-year-old paid $7.10 from the TAB.

Neale is part of a syndicate that owns the horse and it is unclear who named him Two Time Charlie.

However, 'Charlie' is a nickname for the AFL's highest individual honour, the Charles Brownlow Medal, which Neale has won twice.

The Lions two-time premiership winner isn't the only footy name involved with the horse.

Former Fremantle star Hayden Ballantyne heads the syndicate, with wife Alyssa listed as the top owner and also features West Coast Eagles premiership player Chris Waterman and his son, current Eagles star Jake.

Two Time Charlie cost $110,000, with horses of that value expected to be able to win events like the one in Bunbury.

Trainer Stephen Miller declared after the weekend win that the horse had enough ability to be winning a Saturday city class race in the future.

Jules appeared to implicate her former best friend Tess Crosley in the 'betrayal' when she told her to take down an Instagram photo of the two of them with their husbands and wrote, 'Take these [photos] down, you idiot you're embarrassing yourself,' in a since-deleted social media comment.

It has now emerged that it was another Brisbane Lions WAG who allegedly caught Lachie, 32, in a compromising position with Tess in a car.

According to the Herald Sun, the woman who discovered the pair is said to have sought advice from another AFL player's partner before breaking the news to Jules.

Jules has since returned to her home state of Western Australia in the wake of her split from Lachie, along with the former couple's two children, Piper and Freddie.

Lachie was recently spotted moving his belongings into a bachelor pad in Brisbane as he decides whether to stay with the Lions or return to Perth as well.
